Can driving of a 3 terminal regulator increase by parallel connection?

Latest Updated:12/01/2011

Question:

Can the driving current of a 3-terminal regulator be increased by tying the outputs together in parallel?

Answer:

No.
If the current is insufficient, investigate whether to reduce the junction to ambient thermal resistance to improve heat dissipation and/or connect a transistor to the output.
