How to change BSC setting to insert idle & wait cycle during operation?

Latest Updated:03/26/2009

Question:

Is it possible to change the setting of the BSC to insert idle cycles and wait cycles during the normal operation? For example, when I connect several devices with the CS0 space, can I have a small number of waits for the faster access to the external memory devices normally, but change the waits(increase temporarily) only around the time of access to such communication devices?

Answer:

Yes, it is possible.
However, if the program to change the number of waits also exists in the memory in the CS0 space, changes that will facilitate the access to the memory will only be available. The change will be reflected from the next access to the external space to Stage 4(the fourth Stage of the Five-stage pipeline), which commands to change the waits.
