What is "+24 KB" used for in xx KB + 24 KB?

Latest Updated:01/25/2008

Question:

ROM capacity of xx KB + 24 KB is provided in the flash memory version. What is "+24 KB" used for?

Answer:

The +24 KB consists of 8-KB (4 KB×2 blocks) of data flash and 16-KB of program ROM2.
The data flash area can be used to allocate table data and as EEPROM to write successive values. The data flash is allocated in the "near" area, so high-speed memory access is enabled.
A user boot program can be stored in program ROM2, which allows the program to start first after reset. Programs can be allocated and operated in the data flash area and program ROM2.
