Can I rewrite the area in program ROM in user boot mode?

Latest Updated:02/24/2012

Question:

I understand the on-chip debugger monitor area in program ROM2 cannot be accessed when performing a debug using the on-chip debugger E8a. Can I rewrite the area in user boot mode?

Answer:

While debugging with the on-chip debugger, do not access to the on-chip debugger monitor area.
The data in the area can be rewritten in user boot mode.
If you set addresses 13FF8h to 13FFBh to all 0, the MCU starts only in user boot mode, regardless of the status of the P5_5, CNVSS, and P5_0 pins. With this setting, note the MCU cannot start in standard serial I/O mode.
Please also note that if you erase the data in program ROM2, your user boot code will be erased at the same time.
