How long should the RESET pin be held low when powering on?

Latest Updated:03/19/2017

Question:

How long should the RESET pin be held low when powering on?

Answer:

From power-on to reset deactivation (RESET pin released back high), please hold the RESET pin low for at least the oscillation stabilization time + PLL lock time (maximum 10 ms).
(Example: If the oscillation stabilization time is 15 ms, RESET must be held low for 25 ms (15 ms + 10 ms).)

For the oscillation stabilization time, please consult oscillation stabilization constant and time specifications from your oscillator manufacturer.
The rated value of the PLL lock time is shown below.

Parameter Rated value
Min Typ Max
PLL lock time     10ms
Conditions: 3 V-system power supply = 3.3V +/-0.3V, 5 V-system power supply = 5.0V +/-0.5V, Ta= -40 degree C to +125 degree C
