The PC7501 emulator debugger and PC4701 emulator debugger (versions for High-performance Embedded Workshop for both emulator debuggers) do not support Windows 7 and there is no future plan for supporting it.
However, though limited, operation of basic functions has been confirmed.
32-bit Windows 7
Operation of basic functions within the range set by the restrictions in "Information on Compatibility of Renesas's Software Development Tool Products and Windows Vista (R), No. 2" has been confirmed.
(Though the notice mentions Windows Vista, operation has been similarly confirmed on the 32-bit Windows 7.)
- Restriction of PC7501 emulator debugger
Unusable on the 32-bit Windows 7 when the LPT interface is used.
- Restriction of PC4701 emulator debugger
Unusable on the 32-bit Windows 7 when the LPT interface and dedicated parallel interface are used.
64-bit Windows 7
Operation is possible even on the 64-bit Windows 7 when the LAN interface is used. The IP address for PC7501 emulator and PC4701 emulator need to be set on Windows XP.
Regarding support for the XP Mode of Windows 7 by the PC4701 and PC7501 emulators
These emulators will not operate with Windows 7, even in an XP-mode window.
