Influence when signal of NC (non-connect) pin of emulator is inserted

Question:

Is an emulator (E10A, E10A-USB, E10T, E10T-USB, SDI emulator, E7, E8, or E8a emulator) adversely affected in anyway if a signal is input to the NC (non-connect) pin on the connector?

Answer:

The NC pin on the connectors of emulators E10A, E10A-USB, E10T, E10T-USB, SDI, E7, E8, and E8a, is equipped for internal-use by the emulator as well as for future extensions. Sending a signal from the user board to this pin will cause interference with the emulator's output signal, resulting in not only faulty operations, but also possible damage to the emulator itself. We strongly recommend you do not connect anything to the NC pin. If this pin is used, emulator
